LinkedIn ist eine interessante Social Media Plattform. Wie alle Portale, auf denen man ein Profil anlegt, um sich zu präsentieren, kann man auch hier nach Kontakten suchen, neue Arbeitsstellen anlegen und viele weitere Möglichkeiten ausloten. LinkedIn ermöglicht es, verschiedenste Informationen anzugeben und bietet Optionen, die andere Dienste wie Facebook nicht haben.
Zum Beispiel ermöglicht LinkedIn, dass man Empfehlungen, bzw. Referenzen von anderen Menschen bekommt. Egal ob es sich dabei um Firmen oder Privatpersonen handelt. Diese Referenzen zählen mit zum Profil, bzw. sind zur Vervollständigung erforderlich.
Die wichtigste Option, die für uns von Interesse ist, sind wie immer die Statusupdates, die man machen kann. So können unsere Freunde immer sehen, was wir gerade tun: welche Blogs wir lesen, welche Produkte wir testen, was wir gut finden und unseren Freunden empfehlen. Und das ist, was wir wollen: möglichst viele Personen auf unsere Angebote aufmerksam machen.
Da wir von Freunden sprechen: LinkedIn hat kein Freundeslimit wie Facebook und erlaubt eine unbegrenzte Anzahl an Freunden. Interessant ist weiterhin, dass Projekte direkt über LinkedIn vorgestellt und bearbeitet werden können. Ähnliche Funktionen bieten auch Facebook und andere Dienste, jedoch nicht in dieser Form.
LinkedIn scheint mehr eine Plattform zu sein, um potentielle Arbeitgeber zu finden und hat insgesamt den größten Business-Touch aller Social Media Plattformen. Einzig XING kommt vielleicht an den Status heran, aber nur in Deutschland.
Interessant ist ebenfalls die Aufmachung von LinkedIn, die sicherlich nicht das Herz jedes Menschen erfreuen wird, aber doch eine gewissen Übersichtlichkeit bietet. Man merkt, dass der Fokus dieses Netzwerks mehr auf einer Übersicht über die jeweilige Person liegt und der Vernetzung sowie der Kontaktaufnahme durch Projektpartner dient. Umso wichtiger ist es, hier nicht jedes Statusupdate zu posten sondern sich zu überlegen, welches Bild man nach draußen vermitteln will.
In jedem Fall ist LinkedIn ein weiterer Baustein in unserem Social Media Plan und erhöht unsere Reichweite und verschafft mehr Menschen Zugang zu unseren Angeboten. Im Augenblick ist es wichtig, auf LinkedIn präsent zu sein. Wie wir unser Profil noch weiter pushen und es in den Suchmaschinen auftauchen lassen (so wie bei allen anderen Web 2.0 Diensten) werde ich später noch abhandeln. Es genügt nicht, auf diesen Plattformen angemeldet zu sein. Wichtig ist zu wissen, wie genau man sie zu einem Vorteil ausnutzt. Und das wirst du noch lernen.
